Equipment Rental Needs

Equipment Rental and Damage Policy
  1. When collecting the equipment, please check that its appearance and functions are normal. We recommend taking photos or videos before use to document its condition. If you find any existing damage or issue, notify our staff immediately before using it.
  2. If you notice any issue, crack, or condition that may affect the safe use of a board, binding, or other equipment during the rental period, stop using it immediately and contact our staff to prevent further damage.
  3. No compensation fee will be charged for minor scratches, normal surface marks, or ordinary wear that can be restored through routine maintenance such as waxing, edge tuning, or base repair.
  4. If a collision, accident, improper use, or other abnormal wear causes any of the following damage, repair or compensation fees will be assessed based on the actual extent of the damage:
・Severe base scratches that expose the core or wood core.
・Edges that are visibly bent, broken, detached, or chipped.
・A base that is bulging, cracked, or delaminated.
・Severe top-sheet cracking, delamination, or a broken board.
・Binding damage caused by impact, collision, or improper use.
・Other damage clearly beyond normal wear and tear.
  5. If the damaged equipment can be repaired, the actual repair cost will be charged.
  6. If equipment is determined to be beyond reasonable repair, cannot be used safely after repair, or is lost during the rental period, compensation equal to up to 14 days of the rental price for that item will be charged.
  7. If the equipment is damaged by a third party, please obtain the person's name, contact details, and relevant incident records at the scene whenever possible, and notify our staff immediately. If the third party's responsibility is confirmed and a compensation agreement is completed, the third party may cover the related costs. If the third party's identity or responsibility cannot be confirmed, or no compensation agreement is completed, the renter remains responsible.
  8. If equipment needs to be replaced for a valid reason such as an incorrect size, an equipment issue, or a malfunction, please contact our staff for assistance.
  9. For replacement requests not caused by equipment failure or an incorrect size, such as changing from a snowboard to skis, from skis to a snowboard, or replacing undamaged ski wear, you may make an appointment to exchange the items at the store. If separate staff delivery is required, a delivery fee of JPY 2,000 will be charged each time.
  10. Unreserved equipment, additional rental items, or last-minute equipment additions do not include free delivery. You may make an appointment to collect them at the store. If separate delivery is required, a delivery fee of JPY 2,000 will be charged each time.
  11. Please contact our staff in advance regarding delivery locations, equipment changes, or other special requests. We will assist based on the day's inventory, staffing, and delivery schedule, but cannot guarantee that every special request can be accommodated.
  12. If equipment is lost or stolen during the rental period, contact our staff immediately. You may also be required to report it to the police or the relevant ski resort authority. Equipment that cannot be recovered will be handled under the compensation standard for equipment that cannot be repaired.
  13. Do not disassemble, modify, or repair boards, bindings, or other rental equipment yourself. If any equipment issue occurs, stop using it and contact our staff. The renter is responsible for repair or compensation costs for damage caused by unauthorized disassembly, modification, or repair.
Cancellation Policy

After your lesson booking and payment are completed, any cancellation, rescheduling request, or inability to attend due to special circumstances will be handled according to the following policy.

1. Lesson Cancellations and Refunds

  1. Cancellation 31 days or more before the lesson start date:
A cancellation and administration fee equal to 10% of the total lesson fee will be charged, and the remaining 90% will be refunded.

  2. Cancellation 15 to 30 days before the lesson start date:
A fee equal to 50% of the total lesson fee will be charged, and the remaining 50% will be refunded.

  3. Cancellation within 14 days (inclusive) before the lesson start date:
    No refund will be provided.

If the booking was paid by deposit or installments, the refund will be calculated based on the amount already paid and the cancellation policy above. The final refund amount is subject to confirmation by RAKU SNOW.

2. Lesson Rescheduling

  1. To change the lesson date, please submit your request at least 15 days before the original lesson start date.

  2. Each booking is generally eligible for one rescheduling request.

  3. All rescheduling requests are subject to instructor availability, lesson capacity, resort arrangements, and other operating resources at the time. Submitting a request does not guarantee that the date can be changed. Final confirmation by RAKU SNOW is required.

  4. Date changes requested for personal reasons within 14 days (inclusive) before the lesson start date are generally not accepted. If you cannot attend the original lesson, the cancellation and refund policy above will apply.

  5. If the rescheduled lesson costs more than the original lesson, the difference must be paid before the lesson starts.

  6. If the rescheduled lesson costs less than the original lesson, the price difference already paid will not be refunded.

3. Sudden Serious Illness or Injury

If a participant suffers a sudden serious acute illness or injury before the lesson and cannot attend, RAKU SNOW may provide special assistance based on the circumstances, provided valid documentation from a medical institution is submitted.

Rescheduling will generally be offered first. If rescheduling cannot be arranged and RAKU SNOW confirms that the case qualifies for a special refund, 10% of the total lesson fee will be retained as an administration and handling fee, and the remaining amount will be refunded.

General discomfort, fatigue, personal schedule changes, or other conditions that are not serious acute illnesses or injuries do not qualify for this special arrangement.

4. Weather and Resort Conditions

Skiing and snowboarding are outdoor winter sports, and weather conditions at Niseko and other Hokkaido ski resorts can change quickly.

Normal snowfall, heavy snow, low temperatures, snowstorms, changes in visibility, or other normal winter weather conditions generally do not qualify as reasons for lesson cancellation, rescheduling, or a refund.

RAKU SNOW will consider:

・Actual resort opening conditions
・Road conditions
・The participant's skiing or snowboarding level
・Weather and safety conditions on the day

to select or adjust the most suitable teaching area or ski resort.

For safety or lesson quality, RAKU SNOW reserves the right to change the actual lesson location and arrangements.

5. Force Majeure and Official Closures

If a major objective event beyond the customer's control occurs, such as:

・An official road closure that makes the destination inaccessible
・An official full or large-scale resort closure with no reasonable alternative teaching area
・A complete suspension of official public transportation
・Another major force majeure event that RAKU SNOW determines makes it genuinely impossible to provide or conduct the lesson

RAKU SNOW will first assist with rescheduling the lesson or provide a reasonable alternative arrangement.

If no reasonable alternative lesson can ultimately be provided, a refund or another appropriate solution will be arranged based on the lesson services that were not provided.

6. Late Arrival and No-show

  1. If a participant arrives late, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time. The lesson cannot be extended due to late arrival.

  2. Lesson time missed because of a participant's late arrival for personal reasons cannot be made up or refunded.

  3. If a participant does not attend on the lesson date (no-show) and does not meet the special conditions above, the lesson will be considered used and no refund or make-up lesson will be provided.

7. When RAKU SNOW Cannot Provide the Lesson

If a confirmed lesson cannot be provided due to RAKU SNOW's instructor arrangements, operations, or another reason caused by the school, we will first arrange:

・A replacement instructor or lesson under equivalent conditions
・Rescheduling to another available date

If no reasonable alternative can be provided, RAKU SNOW will refund the corresponding fee for the lesson services not provided.

8. Other Information

All cancellation, rescheduling, and special refund requests are valid only after confirmation by RAKU SNOW customer service.

If a refund applies, the actual refund amount will be calculated based on the booking status, the amount paid, and this policy.

RAKU SNOW reserves the right to make reasonable lesson adjustments based on safety conditions and actual operating circumstances.
